August 1, 9:30am – Now up to Congress. They will need to put together the necessary votes for passage. Great article from CNN discussing the challenges of waiting to the last minute.

As we went to sleep on July 31st – President Barack Obama and congressional leaders reached agreement Sunday on a legislative package that would extend the federal debt ceiling. The proposed deal still requires congressional approval.
