5 Reasons to Hire a Real Estate Professional When Buying & Selling!

5 Reasons to Hire a Real Estate Professional When Buying & Selling!

Whether you are buying or selling a home, it can be quite an adventurous journey; you need an experienced Real Estate Professional to lead you to your ultimate goal. In this world of instant gratification and internet searches, many sellers think that they can For Sale by Owner or FSBO.

The 5 Reasons You NEED a Real Estate Professional in your corner haven’t changed, but rather have been strengthened, due to the projections of higher mortgage interest rates & home prices as the market continues to pick up steam.

1. What do you do with all this paperwork?

Each state has different regulations regarding the contracts required for a successful sale, and these regulations are constantly changing. A true Real Estate Professional is an expert in their market and can guide you through the stacks of paperwork necessary to make your dream a reality.

2. Ok, so you found your dream house, now what?

According to the Orlando Regional REALTOR Association, there are over 230 possible actions that need to take place during every successful real estate transaction. Don’t you want someone who has been there before, someone who knows what these actions are, to make sure that you acquire your dream?

3. Are you a good negotiator?

So maybe you’re not convinced that you need an agent to sell your home. However, after looking at the list of parties that you need to be prepared to negotiate with, you’ll realize the value in selecting a Real Estate Professional. From the buyer (who wants the best deal possible), to the home inspection companies, to the appraiser, there are at least 11 different people that you will have to be knowledgeable with and answer to, during the process.

4. What is the home you’re buying/selling really worth?

It is important for your home to be priced correctly from the start to attract the right buyers and shorten the time that it’s on the market. You need someone who is not emotionally connected to your home to give you the truth as to your home’s value. According to the National Association of REALTORS, “the typical FSBO home sold for $185,000 compared to $245,000 among agent-assisted home sales.”

Get the most out of your transaction by hiring a professional.

5. Do you know what’s really going on in the market?

There is so much information out there on the news and the internet about home sales, prices, and mortgage rates; how do you know what’s going on specifically in your area? Who do you turn to in order to competitively price your home correctly at the beginning of the selling process? How do you know what to offer on your dream home without paying too much, or offending the seller with a lowball offer?

Dave Ramsey, the financial guru, advises:

“When getting help with money, whether it’s insurance, real estate or investments, you should always look for someone with the heart of a teacher, not the heart of a salesman.”

Hiring an agent who has their finger on the pulse of the market will make your buying or selling experience an educated one. You need someone who is going to tell you the truth, not just what they think you want to hear.

Bottom Line

You wouldn’t replace the engine in your car without a trusted mechanic. Why would you make one of the most important financial decisions of your life without hiring a Real Estate Professional?

I like that you point out that one of the benefits of hiring a real estate agent is that they are able to negotiate for the best price possible. I can see why this might be something that every is able to do. Even if you are, it seems like hiring someone to help you out would be a smart thing to do because they know what steps are needed from start to finish.

I agree that it is difficult to decipher what is reality when reading through reports about the housing market’s health because of so many contrasting opinions. Knowing what is going on in the market is important so that you can know how to attract buyers when selling your home. It seems like a good idea to call on a real estate agent to help you tailor your home to suit the needs of the market. Having an experienced professional on your side is always a good thing.

I like how the article points out that a real estate agent can be a really helpful negotiator. I’m not very good at negotiation, so I think a real estate agent would be a huge help in that aspect for me. Could an agent be involved in the home inspection process and negotiate what repairs need to be done before buying a property? I would be very interested to know. Thanks!

My brother is in the market for a new home. He and his family have been living in a two-bedroom apartment for the last few years, but he’s about to have another child. He needs more space. I didn’t realize that a real estate agent is able to get you more for your home and get a new home for less by being able to price homes accurately. That seems like a great benefit my brother could use.

I like that you mentioned that a real estate agent will be able to help you handle all the paperwork that comes from selling a home. My wife and I have been talking about selling our home for a while now. It would be really helpful to have somebody help us with the paperwork. We will have to look into a good real estate agent in the area.

I can definitely see the benefits of having a real estate professional in your corner. I have no idea what my home is worth, really, so I would need their professional opinion. We want to sell our home this year, so thanks for the information!

It is good to learn that a true real estate professional is an expert in their market. I am happy to learn that they can guide you through intense paperwork. Before hiring an agent, it would be a good idea to find someone local who is very familiar with selling prices in the area.

I have always wondered if it is better to buy and sell homes through a real estate agent or on your own. I had no idea that there were over 230 actions that need to take place during a real estate transaction. Because of that alone, I think that it would be beneficial to hire a real estate agent. I also think that they would be able to help with marketing and negotiation which would be important.

Very good information to follow. You would be surprised how many people would undervalue their properties in this current trend especially ones that have been in the same home through the market crash. Also the ones who bought in the last 5 years have seen significant appreciation.

There is so much we can do to make the process easy and painless

Thank you for your support of the Real Estate Industry

I like how you mentioned that it is important for your home to be priced correctly from the start and that a professional real estate agent can help with that. That is something that we will have to keep in mind while we are getting ready to sell our home. My husband got a new job in another state and this will be our first experience selling a home. We will be sure to heed these tips during the process, thank you for sharing!

I like how the article suggests working with an agent since they understand the market. It says that hiring a real estate agent that has a good understanding of the market will help make you selling experience better. I’d imagine this would also help ensure you home gets sold in a timely manner, and for the best price possible. My wife and I are looking to sell our home soon and move to a smaller place, but neither of us have any selling experience. I’ll be sure to look for an agent that has the ability to read the current market’s state and inform us how to go about the best way to sell our home.

I like the questions you asked in helping someone decide that a real estate agent is what they really need. The most daunting task of buying a house is all of the paperwork involved. It’s time consuming and half the time you don’t know what it is for, so it helped to have a real estate agent there to help me every step of the way. If you are looking to purchase a home, finding a reliable and trustworthy real estate agent would be the best way to go.

    LNWeaver says:

Wow, I didn’t know there were at least 11 different people you had to talk to to buy a house. I can see why’d you need someone steeped in the realty world. My wife and I just started looking for houses, but even that’s pretty hard without help; we don’t know where to look.

I can see why it’s a good idea to hire a realtor when buying a home. My wife and I want to buy one this summer, but neither of us is a good negotiator. We like to please people too much. So, we think it’s a good idea to hire an agent to help with that.

I like how you asked the question of how do you really know what’s going on in your area. Being in the know is one of the greatest benefits of having a real estate agent because they will have all the information on good deals or beautiful properties that could be what you’re looking for. They will also know what is a good area to be looking in and what might not be quite so nice which would be important if you have kids who will be playing in your yard.

    Finley Moreira says:

It’s good to know that a real estate agent will typically handle the paperwork associated with buying a home. I’m not good at reading through contractual obligations or things like that, so having a real estate agent that can do this for me would be a huge help. I’d imagine it would take a lot of the stress I feel during the house buying experience of off me. http://www.sherriemiller.com/

It could be beneficial for him to hire a real estate agent to assist him with negotiations and the other questions he may have.

Thank you for all this great information about selling a house with a real estate agent! I really like your point that a real estate agent would help by knowing the market and how to make the best of the sale of my home. You explain it well that I need to know local home sale prices, mortgage rates and the specifics to really know how to sell my home the best way possible. My husband and I decided that we want to move cross country this fall, so this information will surely help us and will keep it in mind as we search for a real estate agent in our area.

I’m recently in the process of selling my home and I’m not the best at pointing out the great things about my home. I liked that you had mentioned that you had mentioned the importance of making sure the home is priced correctly because it could help advertise my home to the right person. My wife had recommended I hire a real estate agent and now that I know I could shorten the time to find a buyer and possibly increase the price I get, I think I’ll attempt to find a realtor for sure. http://www.suncoastbrevard.com/

My wife and I are looking for a real estate agent to help us find a new home, and I think that the negotiations are going to be a huge help fur us. I’m not great at negotiating, so being able to hire a realtor who can help us out and do that on our behalf would be really nice. I’m going to have to make sure that our real estate agent is confident in negotiations, and will be able to get us the best deal for our money!

I find it interesting that one should find a realtor that has a “heart of a teacher” not “the heart of a salesman.” My uncle needs a house to move in this Thanksgiving in order to be closer to the rest of the family. I will help him by finding one using your tips in order to not only help him reconnect with the rest of the family but also help him live comfortably this winter as well.

It’s true that it’s important to look for a real estate agent who is an expert in negotiating and those who know the recent stretch in the real estate market. This is to make sure that you will be getting the best option for your dream house. My sister is planning to buy a house this year, and she is planning to hire a real estate agent. I’ll advise her to look for an experienced one and someone who knows the market trend.
