People are leaving the northeast because it’s too expensive to live here, thanks to exorbitant taxes among other high costs of living.
100% correct. If you notice, the first 4 states are not «warm climate states». People are leaving due to liberal policies.
Bingo! Tax the working class and become a nanny state, and they will simply move on to greener pastures.
So explain to me Kentucky and West Virginia? LOL. While there are plenty of reasons to be unhappy with some of the N.E. politics look at the carolinas and florida.N.E retirement states.Great job jumping to conclusions though :)
5 thru 10 of the moving out of are all red states with very conservative legislatures. Kansas is a great example. They reduced taxes so much that infrastructure is failing and teachers are leaving for other states due to budget woes. It’s not as simple as liberal vs conservative
People leave Illinois because it has the worst government of any state and the quality of life is decreasing daily.
Worst government of any state and bad quality of life? West Virginia says «Hold my beer, » watch this».

Warmer weather? and people are moving to Washington???
The Atlantic has an article called: Wait – Utah is the fastest-growing state. It has Utah #1 and Nevada #2 (percent of the population). Texas is #1 per total number of moves.
With the fastest growing there could be more movement in and out – meaning it’s still growing but very transient.
they make babies in Utah then they grow up and move to the northwest
Yeah, not surprised to see Kentucky on the moving out list. It’s beyond hard to get a job here. Everyone hires their relatives and friends here. We are looking to move out west.
